Discover Paris

Paris is the capital city of France and is the country's largest city by some considerable distance. As the capital, it is the seat of government as well as being the centre of business and commerce and the engine of the French economy.

Other than its importance as the capital, it is also considered by many to be the de facto world capital of fashion. Whilst much of the fashion industry takes place behind the scenes, the designer shops and boutiques in the swanky Paris shopping streets are testament to the city's position on the world fashion scene.

It is, however, not just fashion that Paris is known for. As the centre of French cuisine, it is home to some of the country's best and most fashionable restaurants which serve both traditional French food and more cutting edge, innovative fayre. It is worth bearing in mind the correlation between Michelin stars and price - the two go hand in hand! As the old adage goes, there is no such thing as a free lunch. One thing is for sure though, you will not be disappointed by your culinary experience in Paris.

Paris is also considered by many to be the most romantic city in the world. It is not just the laissez-faire attitude of the inhabitants that makes it so. It is the whole package - the stunning architecture, the beautiful people, the magnificent River Seine snaking its way through the city, the food to die for and its fascinating and varied history. Maybe you won't fall in love in Paris but you would be hard pushed not to fall in love with Paris!
